Assessment of Diabetes Health Promotion Behaviors for Clients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at Diabetic Center in Al-Diwaniya City

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a significant worldwide medical issue that causes high human,social, and financial expenses on nations at all pay levels. The constant hyperglycemia of diabetes relatedto long-term damage, brokenness, disappointment different organs, particularly the eyes, kidneys,nerves, heart, blood vessels.Method: A descriptive correlational design used in this study which aims to measure health-relatedexperiences lifestyle behaviors for clients with type 2 period from (1st October 2019 to27th August 2020). included convenience sample 358 mellituswho were recruited Al-Diwaniya Teaching Hospital Endocrine Center.Data collected using self-report instrument includes socio-demographic sheet, thehealth profile, Type Health Promotion Scale. data analyzed StatisticalPackage Social Sciences (SPSS) version 26 frequency, percent, arithmetic mean, standarddeviation, Pearson correlation, Independent-sample t-test, one-way analysis variance (ANOVA).The results displayed most participants reported poor Physical Activity level (n = 266; 74.3%),more than two-fifth good Risk Reduction 148; 41.3%), less reportedgood Stress Management 134; 37.4%), fair Healthy Diet (n= 135; 37.7%), more overall behavior 193; 53.9%). Furthermore, thereare statistically inverse correlations between participants’ age their Activity, RiskReduction, Management, Enjoying Life, behavior.Conclusion: researcher concluded younger clients, poorer behavior; older client, better theHealth Responsibility; socioeconomic status, Reduction,Stress behavior.
